Protein Engineering Analysis Tool DataBase (PEAT_DB) is built for sharing, analysing, organising and storing experimental and theoretical data from Protein Engineering experiments.

PEAT_DB is a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) integrated with algorithms for fitting experimental data on the biophysical characteristics of proteins. PEAT also contains funtions for handling and analysing protein structures, and therefore allows the interpretation of experimental data in a structural context. The current version is 2.0 and was released in February 2010.

PEAT_DB Components

    • PEAT data dumps
    • View database changes
  • The PEAT client
    • LIMS functionality - deposition of data, record keeping
    • DNAtool - DNA sequence analysis, restriction digests, primer design
    • Ekin - Import, fitting and annotation of experimental data
    • Labbook - organisation of lab materials and microbiological strains involved in protein production.
    • Plugins - Using and creating PEAT plugins

In addition PEAT is interfaced to pKaTool to allow for advanced fitting of NMR titration curves.

Installation

Downloads

PEAT can be downloaded free of charge for academic users. But you need to register first so we can verify your mail address and that you are at an educational institute. Industrial users should email this address to obtain copies of the software.

  • Already registered? You can choose your download from the directory here or select a download below.

Below is a list of direct links for the current release. The standalone versions contain everything required to run the software and don't need any additional installs. (For linux a standalone version is usually not required, since python and other packages needed are usually present or easy to install on a linux distribution e.g. using yum in fedora. See Subversion access).

Windows standalone installer all-in-one installer, recommended if you are not sure
Windows python package just installs the peat_db packages, requires python and dependencies
Linux standalone usually not required
Linux/OS X python package just installs peat_db packages, requires python and dependencies
Linux rpm should work in most newer rpm based distributions, tested on fedora 10/11
Mac OSX not yet available
